Jazz Up the Games with a Competition of Your Own
As featured on the Today Show!

olympic_wine300Bottlenotes CEO, Alyssa Rapp, has the pleasure of discussing wine entertaining tips with Regis and Kathie Lee on the Today Show this morning! One of the entertaining ideas she is offering up for summer is creating a “Wine Olympics” at one of your Olympics-viewing parties.

Details on how to add this wine competition to your Olympics fanfare are below. You can see the segment LIVE during the 10 am hour on NBC... so tune in. Let the games begin!

Ten Steps to Hosting Your Very Own “Wine Olympics:”

1) Ask each guest to bring two bottles each of his/her favorite wine to your Olympics viewing party. Or for less hassle but more money, you, as the host, can buy 2 bottles each of at least 6 wines from around the world.

2) Place one of each of the bottles in a brown paper bag so all guests will be judging the competition “blindly.”

3) Put the second bottle aside for prizes to be given away at the end.

4) Place a letter on each brown paper bag (A, B, C…etc.)

5) Let the guests taste each of the wines in the competition. (Note: you will be able to get 12 pours of two-ounces each from each bottle; if you pour an even smaller taste, you can serve more than 12 people.)

6) Hand each guest a piece of paper where he/she can rank each wine in order of personal preference.

7) The wine with the most “Gold Medal” votes” gets the gold medal, “Silver Medal” votes get the silver medal, and so on.

8) Hold your awards ceremony— toast the winners!

9) Let the attendees who voted for the Gold Medal wine pick their prizes first, Silver second, Bronze third.

10) Share your results with The Daily Sip® community on Facebook!
