Winery Story

Laely Heron launched Heron Wines in 1994. At the time it was rare to see a woman-owned business in an industry traditionally dominated by me... (more...)n. Her first release was a Merlot from the St. Chinian region in southern France. Since then she has added a California Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to her portfolio. Laely has recently released "Sexto", a wine from Terra Alta, which is the southern-most DO in Catalonia, Spain. Over the last decade, Heron has become a “cult wine” among master sommeliers and chefs, a favorite “by the glass” pour in the nation’s top restaurants and a consistent “Best Buy” in the wine press.
