Pieve di Campoli was born in 1985 as an extension of the Archdiocese of Florence. The old cellars have recently been transformed to employ state-of-the-art vinification methods and techniques. The winery is managed in a entrepreneurial way in that it has availed itself of professional collaboration. In 2000, the winery hired on Dr. Andrea Paoletti, a native of Chianti Classico, to consult on agronomy and oenology. His work on the Chianti 2000 project has put him on the front lines of the Italian viticultural renaissance, and has led to the re-creation of the vineyard's wines.
