Blaye is an historic town about 20 miles (32km) to the north of Bordeaux city occupying the northern end of the Bordeaux wine region’s... (more...) ‘right bank’. Slightly higher and hillier than the land of the majestic chateaux just across the Gironde Blaye and its vineyards lend a picturesque element to Bordeaux’s landscapes. The best wines from this unique terroir are blends of merlot cabernet franc and often a small percentatge of cabernet sauvignon.Look for some blackberry and blueberry jam aromas on the nose which lead to a concentrated palate with lots of fruit especially light noses of cassis anad ripe plum. The finish is caressingly soft and show a medium length.
