“The 2008 Ornello is the newest entry in the estate’s lineup. A blend of 40% Sangioveto, 20% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and ... (more...)20% Merlot. Ornello is fermented in stainless steel, racked into cement for the malolactic fermentation and subsequently aged in French oak barrels, 30% new. The 2008 flows with gorgeous dark fruit, herbs, mocha and sweet French oak in a big, full-bodied style, showing notable intensity in its fruit, terrific balance and a long, impeccably refined finish. It is a superb first effort. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2018.”-Wine Advocate (92 points)
