Saumur-Champy is in a warm micro-climate with soils that are hard limestone and retain heat better than surrounding soils, this allows the C... (more...)abernet Franc to attain a ripeness not found in other Loire regions. This is an intensely fruity and herbaceous red with a little spiciness. A slight chill is recommended, especailly in warmer weather.
