The vineyards are mostly small, and traditional winemaking techniques are used to maintain the quality that has existed for centuries. This light, excellent wine, is a favorite Loire Valley red. Saumur Champigny was the favorite red wine of Edward VII of England and of Clemenceau "The Tiger".
