Winery Story

Te Awa Farm is a unique place. In 1992 the Lawson family -- longtime grape growers -- established the Hawke's Bay property.

Tasting Note

Te Awa is a unique place. The full name in Maori “Te Awa o Te Atua” means River of God, a reference to the subterranean streams ... (more...)over which Te Awa is sited. The Gimblett Gravels Wine Growing district in Hawke’s Bay, in which Te Awa occupies a premium parcel of land, is renowned for the quality of its wines. Warm temperatures, low rainfall, and the permeability of the soils create an almost paradoxical blend of consistency and complexity – to be sought, savoured and remembered.
