Alana Estate Sauvignon Blanc - 2009(PARTNER)

Alana Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Tasting Note

This year witnessed block eight Sauvignon Blanc vines hit their straps (5years old) delivering an early ripening powerhouse of fruit from th... (more...)e terrace edge which is more evident on the front palate. This has been complimented by the older vines in block seven (15years) which delivered fruit with complete ripeness at the end of April, this fruit was phenologically ripe with an exciting grainy phenolic texture and pink grapefruit flavours. The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc will be exciting to watch, it has the fruit power of the 2007, diverse citrus spectrum and straw on the nose. The palate is tight, long and savoury with a lingering oyster shell saltiness that is just divine.
