Rioja reds ... (more...)are known for their characteristic cola and vanilla aromas and flavors, imparted thanks to the use of American oak in the strictly regulated maturation process. This wine saw a minimum of a year in oak before bottling. This promising Crianza requires some tempting to show its full colors right now, but with a little aeration it shines. Notes of cola, sweet herbs, orange zest and raspberry tempt on the nose, followed by flavors of dried cherry and raspberry, more cola and vanilla. This medium-bodied red is appealingly versatile with food and will make a great companion to turkey, pork and chicken.
