Tasting Note

Brick Road's 100% Shiraz comes from the 21-acre Nine Gums Vineyard in the McLaren Vale district of South Australia. The grapes were harvested in March 2005, and after fermentation on skins for 12 days the wine was matured for one year in American and French (15%) oak. Very deep crimson color. Top note of ripe plum, followed by spice, vanilla, violets and licorice, delivering an impressive sniff. The wine has excellent weight and mouthfeel with flavors of licorice,dark chocolate and plum evident. Very spicy palate. Fine-grained tannins. Aftertaste of licorice and spice.
