Winery Story

Cascina Adelaide has been a working winery with its own "cru" vineyards - vineyards recognized on the basis of exposure, altitude, and soil ... (more...)characteristics as producing the highest quality grapes in the region - for over 100 years. Despite its location just below the castello of Barolo, it was basically unknown outside the local area until Amabile Drocco bought the property in 1999 and modernized it. Investment was made in new equipment, a top agronomist and winemaker were engaged, and a new state-of-the-art gravity-fed winery building was added on the property. In short, the potential of Cascina Adelaide is now being realized: to become one of the best producers in an area where world-class wine is already the norm.

La primera percepción que uno siente a la hora de catar las muestras es la de necesitar un esfuerzo menor por la inferior agresividad tánica y la acidez más baja, son más inmediatos a la hora de desarrollar todo su potencial. son vinos para comenzar a beber pronto con sus taninos más maduros y dulces aunque también los encontremos secos y amargos, por "culpa" de la difícil madurez fenólica. Con eximias excepciones, la recomendación es la de no guardar muchos años los vinos en la bodega.
