Maurice Monier de La Sizeranne, owner of the plot of the Hermitage, la Sizeranne, is also the inventor of the first version of abbreviated Braille. The trademark pays tribute to this man but also expresses the desire to reach out to and include all people with sight-impairments, lovers of good wines. Maison Chapoutier cultivates his vineyards biodynamically, as he has embraced the philosophy that the soil is living and expressive, and ought to come through in the wine.Sweet and perfumed nose, tobacco, earth, spices, pepper, and loads of ripe fruit; very sweet in the mouth, but with a lighter style than most of these wines; big and chunky at this time, and still obviously evolving; a bit overripe even for this style of wine; lacks finesse, but may develop more interesting nuances over time.
