Maurice Monier de La Sizeranne, owner of the plot of the Hermitage, la Sizeranne, is also the inventor of the first version of abbreviated Braille. The trademark pays tribute to this man but also expresses the desire to reach out to and include all people with sight-impairments, lovers of good wines. Maison Chapoutier cultivates his vineyards biodynamically, as he has embraced the philosophy that the soil is living and expressive, and ought to come through in the wine.Sweet honeyed nose, lots of sugar and sweetness in the aromas, touch of salt spray, some herbs, quite floral and almost over the top with the scent of magnolias; sweet and very round in the mouth, there is good core acidity in this wine, and a good focus, but the edges are not sharply defined, a fuzzy kind of wine with lots of fruit and sweetness with spices, but lacks a real statement; good, not great.
