* Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
A wine from a totally unheralded vintage, and the only bottle that I have seen in recent years; a classic Latour nose with ripe sweet fruit, lots of black fruits, cassis, quite sweet and rich actually, walnut shells, earth, chocolate; sweet on the entry, light and not with the layers of flavor that one expects from this wine; dry tannins, earth, not the depth of the good years, but a testament to the property for making a very good wine in a questionable vintage; good citric finish, light and simple, with a finish that drops off when it should keep going, but a wine that should not be treated cavalierly.
