Chateau Musar Blanc - 2000(WX-1)

Chateau Musar Blanc

Winery Story

Viticulture in Lebanon was introduced 6,000 years ago by the Phoenicians who traded their wines throughout the Mediterranean and planted the... (more...) vine in southern Europe. Created in 1930 in the cellar of an old XVIIIth century castle, Château Musar is as much the work of a family as the living testimony of all the civilizations that tread its soil. After a long stay in France, Gaston Hochar returned to Lebanon and created Château Musar in the cellars of the old 'Mzar' castle in Ghazir, overlooking the Mediterranean sea.

Tasting Note

Château Musar White are particularly special; obeideh and merwah are indigenous to Mount Lebanon, their history dates back to ancient times... (more...). Both varieties are partly fermented in oak "barriques" where they mature for a further 9 months. They are then blended, bottled and aged for a further 4 years before release.
