Quantity:
Coastal Ridge Shiraz - 2006
appearance: above-average intensity with a standard purple color.
nose: a bit unclean on the nose, with good intensity and aromas of black cherry, butter, black pepper, ginger, and a petrol-type of smell.
palate: off-dry with low acidity and tannins, with flavors of black cherry, strawberry, blackberry, and tobacco. the length is not very good.
overall: this wine is not bad considering the price at $7.99. it has decent fruit and would appeal to the new-world types. it's over-oaked, and the butter flavor isn't so great. still, it's serviceable, and i give it an 85.
