Gottelmann Riesling Kabinett Trocken Munsterer Kapellenberg
Floral, Aromatic Crisp Light

Winery Story

Göttelmann is located where the river Nahe merges with the mighty river Rhein. This fourth-generation family business has been built upon t... (more...)he successful policy of cultivating wine on the slopes of the steep valleys of the Nahe valley close to the Rhein. The present generation has merged the Göttelmann tradition and location with the Blessing family viticulture skills. Ruth Göttelmann-Blessing, Götz Blessing, and their three daughters Sina, Recha and Alissa, own about 3 acres of prime vineyards. The best wines come from the hardest-to-work steepest slopes. This intensive labor of love is reflected in the incredible care taken in producing these high quality wines.

Tasting Note

This delicious, dry German Riesling from the Nahe has a delicate floral bouquet with honeysuckle, pear, and white peach aromas. It has racy ... (more...)acidity and zesty flavors of lemon peel, lime, minerals, crisp pear, and a long, clean finish.

Quite sweet, well-rounded flavor, very aromatic, taste of delicate pear, acidic taste at the end, nice color-closer to a chardonnay

Visual: Golden straw color with a pale gold rim Nose: The pretty nose shows lively aromas of freshly picked flowers, butterscotch, sugared lime rind, wet stones (that’s the mineral from the soil coming out there), pears and banana. Taste: This nearly dry Riesling has assertive acidity that makes it great for food pairing. It also boasts rich fruit aromas and flavors including apricot, banana, apple, and refreshing lemon squirt. It’s also got a healthy dose of minerality from the slate-y soils of the Nahe. The finish is lovely and long and broad, with a creamy note at the end.
