Hermitage Hermitage “Chante Alouette” Chapoutier - 2001
* Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Powerful nose of sweet and honeyed fruit, raisins, beeswax, very perfumed and floral, enticing and seductive; sweet and ripe in the mouth; honeyed, floral flavors that show a lot of complexity and sophistication; thick but fresh; long finish with powerful acidity that provides focus and definition; smooth and fresh. (16.5/20) Another bottle at the OxFam dinner was consistent in most respects, but the alcohol was more in evidence.
