A great red wine blend, especially after cellared for a year or two.

There's an interesting story behind this label, which originated in 2003, after an earthquake hit Paso Robles, resulting in the loss of 5,000 cases of wine at Justin. In addition to the river of wine flowing out of the caves, many labels on the barrels were lost. Since they had no way to know what specific grapes were in which barrel, they created this declassified wine called the Orphan. I initially tasted it during my first visit to the winery, and it was only ~$10.

It's cherry red in color with cloves and candied cherries aromas. Medium bodied and smooth, this bordeaux blend is easy drinking and would pair with a range of foods. A great everyday drinking wine, I feel like the pricing of this at $20 relative to the $26 cabernet is slightly off. At those prices I'd recommend upgrading to the cabernet. At the $15 club member special, this is a nice buy.
