Tasting Note

This rose’ sparkler, also from La Tordera, but not made from Prosecco, is truly unique. The name, which translates to “Gabriella’s ble... (more...)nd,” refers to the managing director of La Tordera, whose stylized portrait is on the label. The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% a very rare cross of Raboso and Hamburg Muscat called Incrocio Manzoni 13.0.25. This wine makes people do a double-take, as the exotic nose, hinting at the muscat component, leads to an unexpectedly rich and complex flavor or mixed berries and citrus,well-balanced between sweet and tart, and then a surprisingly dry, serious, and long finish. This wine pairs with just about any food, while at the same time being delicious on its own.
