Winery Story
This is a family winery in the true sense of the word. Juan Muñoz Lopez and his family immigrated to Argentina in 1952 from his hometown of Andalucía, Spain, and began cultivating vines in the rich lands of Mendoza. He was immediately struck by the large number of partridges roaming these lands; hence the name “Las Perdices”. Muñoz’s vineyards are located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains at 3,379 feet above sea level in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, and the first DOC zone in Argentina.
Tasting Note
This crowd-pleasing red is an intense ruby color and offers cherry and cassis aromas and flavors underpinned by subtle pepper and soft vanilla oak notes. Aged for six months in mostly new American and French oak barrels, the wine marries smooth tannin with hints of spice, vanilla and tobacco.
