I purchased the 1999 to compare with the 2000. Definitely much more muted in comparison to the 2000. All the elements are there, but for $2 difference you might as well buy the 2000 vintage!

St. Emilion is one of my favorites. But this, while very good, seemed to lack personality a bit. it was balanced but lacked that certain je ne sais quoi. Lacked a velvety, smooth tannin quality that i've enjoyed in other st. emilions. maybe it's because of the hot summer weather, but i'm actually more interested in checking out less heavy reds over the next couple of months.

Not as lush as I usually find Bordeaux to be- particularly those from St. Emilion.
