Michael Moone. Vineyard Notes – The 2005 EMM Stanly Ranch Pinot Noir was grown at E. Michael Moone’s own Stanly Ranch, in the Carneros District of the Napa Valley. The fruit was harvested in mid-September, in order to maintain the delicate varietal characteristics of a classic Pinot Noir. Winemaking Notes – The vineyard is comprised of a mixture of 115 and Pommard clones, with this blend predominately Clone 115. After a 5-day cold soak, we had an 8-day native fermentation and pressed to barrel. The wine was aged in 35% new French oak (Cadus, Remond and Billon) barrels for eleven months. Malolactic fermentation finished in February and the wine was bottled in August. Only 160 cases were produced.Tasting Notes – This Pinot Noir has aromas of black licorice with vanilla, cherry, warm spices and a touch of Amaretto. It makes a smoky entrance on the palate, with delicate hints of red roses and cardamom. The luscious flavor of ripe black cherries lingers on the finish.Composition: 100% Pinot NoirBuy Now!!
