Tasting Note

Ruston Family Vineyards has been expertly making wines from Bordeaux varieties since the late 1990's. The first vines were planted on the St... (more...). Helena prune orchard in the mid-1980's. In 1996, John Ruston and his wife Janet Sapadin took over and expanded the vineyard. Ruston's first three vintages were made by the world famous winemaker, Philippe Melka who has worked in some of the world's most prestigious wineries including Petrus and their Napa winery, Dominus. Since 2002, however, the wines have been made by Joshua Krupp whose credits include Fisher Vineyards, Paul Hobbs, and Chapoutier in France's Rhône Valley. Clearly, all of Ruston's wines are expertly made, high value, ripe, rich, and simply delicious.Cuveé Simone is a rich, ripe blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon with deep black fruit, black cherry and plum. It has good depth and complexity, while achieving nice balance. Available Spring 2006
