Winery Story

Taittinger is one of the best of France's newer Champagne houses, having made its debut in 1945 after Pierre Taittinger purchased the Fourne... (more...)aux Champagne house and gave it his own name, Taittinger. Pierre's two sons, Francois and Claude, have sustained the Champagne house's strong growth. Besides making outstanding bubbly, Taittinger is one of the top vineyard owners in Champagne, with more than 600 acres of the best sites under its ownership.

Tasting Note

This blend of 50% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and 50% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims area, has great structure. A brilliant,... (more...) pale yellow with silvery highlights, this Champagne has fine, long-lasting bubbles. Initial mineral aromas quickly develop into green, floral scents with hints of elderflower and spicy cinnamon overtones. Flavors of fresh citrus fruit give way to a much fuller, well-bodied and mellow taste reminiscent of white peaches in syrup. The finish is long and rich.
