Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port - 2003(W-430)

Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port
Big Powerful

Winery Story

Known as "the connoisseur's port," Taylor, Fladgate Vintage port is considered to be the most densely structured, intensely concentrated and... (more...) longest-lived of all vintage ports. A blend of only flawless wines produced in only the most exceptional years, it is produced, on average, in only three vintage years declared each decade. Frequently compared to the first growth Château Latour, Taylor, Fladgate Vintage Ports often set the standard for quality in declared years, and consistently draw the highest prices at auction.

Tasting Note

Taylor Fladgate vintage port is marked by a style which seamlessly marries power and longevity with grace and finesse. Its dense, concentrat... (more...)ed black fruit and tannic backbone evolve over time into integrated flavors of dark berry and plum offset by complex notes of leaf, rose petal and chocolate and a long, refined finish. Produced by the traditional foot-treading method in the lagares of Quinta de Vargellas, Taylor, Fladgate Vintage Ports are bottled, unfined and unfiltered, after two years in cask.
