Te Awa Farms Sauvignon Blanc - 2005(W-373)

Te Awa Farms Sauvignon Blanc
Tangy, Zesty

Winery Story

Te Awa Farm is a unique place. The full name in Maori - Te Awa o Te Atua - means River of God, a reference to the mysterious subterranean st... (more...)reams over which Te Awa Farm sits, and from which its single estate grown wines draw their sublime character. In 1992 the Lawson family -- longtime grape growers -- established the Hawke's Bay property.

Tasting Note

This beautifully balanced Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand's emerging Hawke's Bay region combines the citrus fruit and mineral-driven notes ... (more...)typical of Sauvignon Blanc with tropical fruit and peach notes arising from partial barrel fermentation. Lovely flavors of grapefruit, citrus squirt and flowers mingle with notes of honey, baking spice and caramel on the palate, making this a wine destined for the table.
