TeAwa Chardonnay - 2005(W-872)

TeAwa Chardonnay
Full, Lush

Winery Story

Te Awa Farm is a unique place. The full name in Maori - Te Awa o Te Atua - means River of God, a reference to the mysterious subterranean st... (more...)reams over which Te Awa Farm sits, and from which its single estate grown wines draw their sublime character. In 1992 the Lawson family -- longtime grape growers -- established the Hawke's Bay property.

Tasting Note

This is a nice, mellow Chardonnay with delicate aromas of peach, cream, and honeysuckle. Honey flavors continue in the mouth with a leesy ch... (more...)aracter, light butter, and a long, smooth, sweet finish.

Did not wow us. Was light, but lacked character and some citrus we like in whites. 2 stars with price factored in.
