Watershed is responsible for the largest initial planting of vines in the emerging Western Australia region. Increasingly known around the w... (more...)orld for its Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling and Chardonnay, this region is one of the coolest wine growing regions in Australia. Watershed owns 280 acres of vines in what's known as the "dress circle" of the Margaret River wineries — the very middle. The site was selected after extensive testing determined that its soils had the best capacity to produce premium quality wine.

Western Australia is producing white and red wines with extraordinary balance thanks to its cool climate, which ensures the grapes net adequ... (more...)ate acidity to stand up to their ripe fruit flavors. This oak-matured Chardonnay is a fantastic example of this balance. Aromas of well-integrated toasty oak are followed by notes of caramel, red and green apples, sugar-dusted lemons, and banana flambée. Dry on the palate, the wine partners flavors of flowers and green apples with a long banana-flambée finish. Outstanding.

Alright. Different than California Chardonnay, which we noticed right away. Not sure that we would drink it again.
