Betsy Lawer’s vineyard is located in the Knights Valley appellation in eastern Sonoma Country, a high-altitude region of mostly rocky and gravelly soil that contribute to outstanding wines of depth and personality.

Tasting Note

A dense and almost opaque mahogany red color giving aromas of blueberry and black berry syrup along with dark chocolate, wet clay and sassaf... (more...)ras bark. There are under-tones of black-strap molasses, pepper corns and geranium floral characters. The palate is fat and chewy on the entry with a sweet tannin mid-palate followed by a cigar like tobacco finish and grainy tannins. Just 148 cases produced.

probably the best wine we've had from bottlenotes. perfect mix of spice and deep black furits. really excellent.

I quite enjoyed this bottle. It was a little earthy, damp, and acidic for me, a bit bigger than my ideal bottle, but i appreciated its complexity and size.
