Owned and run by an American former high school history and economics teacher and his wife, Highbank Vineyards in Coonawarra is entirely org... (more...)anic and produces wines of outstanding character. Driven by a passion for wine, Dennis Vice, his wife and their two children left California and arrived in Australia over 20 years ago. Vice not only went on to teach viticulture in Coonawarra for twelve years, but also wrote the curriculum for viticulture training in Australia. Coonawarra and Penola are located within the region known as the Limestone Coast, which is a rich and prosperous area, stretching from the Glenelg River on the Victorian border up to Tailem Bend and back to Bordertown.
