After turning off the Siena-Florence highway at San Casciano, the landscape immediately becomes more rural, and Villa Le Corti is soon visible atop a hill. In 1992, Duccio Corsini, son of Filippo Corsini and heir to the title of 10th Prince of Sismano, chose to make Le Corti his family’s main residence, and to dedicate himself to its restoration. The Corsini family’s role in Italy has always been that of hard work and contribution. Duccio Corsini chose to take on the mantle of turning Le Corti, and all that its legacy encompassed, from a family relic to a productive estate – one whose contributions matched its inherent potential. “Once I had rolled up my sleeves,” he says “I understood that the wine, the oil, the hospitality here were the means of giving a better direction to an estate that lacked energy and was no longer productive in the highest sense of that word."
