Classic cool-climate North Coast Chard, with well-etched flavors of green apples and pears, framed in smoky oak and oriental spices. Bright and acidic, with a long finish marked by cinnamon and honey. On the sweet side, so try with sweetish foods, like mango salsa on chicken or salmon. 1 Note

While this unoaked white wine is dry and crisp in acidity, it’s heavy in fruit. Weighs down the mouth with superripe apricot, peach, honeysuckle and vanilla flavors that are so forward and obvious, they rob the wine of delicacy and finesse. 1 Note

Sparkling wine specialist Scharffenberger turns its hand to Chardonnay with interesting results. Acidity is the most notable feature, higher or at least more pronounced than in most California Chards. There’s also a mineral undergirding to the lemon preserves and orange zest flavors.
