Most Recent Tasting Note:

Meiomi was a recommended Pinot Noir specifically for a dinner of Salmon and pasta by a local sommelier. I had originally thought of a Chardonnay, but I found that this lightest of reds was a better pairing. It is actually crafted together with Pinot Noir from three counties: Sonoma, Santa Barbara, and Monterey. It is light with blueberry and perhaps a sense of rasberries with a slight, smooth vanilla finish. It was barreled in French oak, but there is almost nothing but a hint of it. It actually complimented the well-done and lightly seasoned salmon we ate to the point that any white wine would not have worked. Price note: this originally retailed at $40, but Belle Glos dropped the price in the wake of the recession and I bought it for $25, an excellent bargain. 1 Note
