This one comes from the hillsides of Spring Mountain. Dark crimson in color. I thought the St. Eden was big...this is even bigger. Wow. I absolutely love the mouth feel-smooth yet powerful tannins with plum, blackberry fruit. Another one that you could lay down for year 1 Note

Nice color, great price but a little too crisp for my taste.

This wine was a Christmas present from my brother, and I wanted to open it with friends who I knew would appreciate it. We had it over this past weekend at Chez Spencer in San Francisco, and it paired nicely with my venison as well as their filet dish.

I got barnyard and mushroom on the nose. It was elegant and well balanced, and still has plenty of fruit. Soft tannins with hints of tobacco, blackberry and plum with a long and pleasant finish.

What a spectacular wine. The Syrah co-fermented with Viognier (as the name would suggest) totally takes the edge of the tannins in this wine. It's hearty, supple, with a velvety mouthfeel, otherwise offering rich black fruit flavors you'd expect from mountain fruit. Delicious.

Barnett Vineyards Merlot -2008

Expectedly intense mountain Merlot. A hint of pomegranate on the nose, velvety tannins evolve into notes of black cherry, dark chocolate, and black tea. Probably the best merlot I’ve enjoyed all year.
