Kaapzicht Cabernet Sauvignon -2001 (WE-62603)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

At first smell this seems to be maturing fast, with cedar and pencil shaving aromas. But in fact the tannins are still firm and dry, the ripe black fruit is all there, and it will certainly improve for a few years yet. But it is ready to drink now. A restrained, elegant wine overall. Not imported. 1 Note

Eventide Cellar Sauvignon Blanc -2006 (WE-71044)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Bright citrus notes of lemon and pineapple start the show with this cheerful, versatile white from the lesser-known winemaking region of Wellington, and in the glass, you'll find delicious flavors of tropical passionfruit and lemon. Clean and light but with some dimension in the midpalate. 1 Note

Mischa Sauvignon Blanc -2006 (WE-71045)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Beautiful, clean and bright citrus notes set this wine apart from first sniff, and the impression continues with flavors of passionfruit and tropical fruit on the palate. It's light and elegant but there's complexity and some weight on the midpalate which works suprisingly well. This is a lovely wine that's perfect for simple patio sipping or as the pairing to an elegant meal. 1 Note

Nitída Pinotage -2006 (WE-71051)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Voluptuous and elegant but still true to the rustic nature of Pinotage, this is a true expression of South African terroir. Sweet black currant, licorice and cool-climate-derived mint mingled with smoke and spice create dimension and depth. The finish is firm and a touch edgy—again, a Pinotage characteristic. 1 Note

Rustenberg Red Blend -2005 (WE-71063)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

This wine is renegade winemaker Adi Badenhorst’s favorite in his portfolio, and for good reason. In line with the best Bordeaux blends, it leads with an earthy, mineral-driven nose, and on the palate, it’s both juicy and restrained. Expressive flavors of pepper, mocha and spice and elegant tannins give the wine a stately and sophisticated style. It will keep getting better in the bottle. 1 Note

Flat Roof Manor Pinot Grigio -2004 (WE-52027)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Modest pear and pineapple aromas are alluring and fresh. The palate is crisp, defined by lime and orange. It’s just jumpy and jagged enough to rise above the masses; fruity and medium-bodied. Imported by Distell USA Inc. 1 Note

Clos Malverne Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot -2004 (WE-62532)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Named by a previous owner after the Malvern Hills in England, and Frenchified by the current owner, Seymour Pritchard. Clos Malverne benefits from the cool-climate of the Devon Valley to produce structured wines, like this still-young 2004. With juicy, blackberry flavors, and layers of toast and herbs, this is a finely balanced wine. Not imported. 1 Note

Saxenburg Estate Cabernet Sauvignon -2003 (WE-62573)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

A very herbal wine, with sage and thyme flavors. There are solid, dry tannins that mask the black fruits and red berry tastes. This is a wine that obviously needs time to develop, promising a serious, tannin-layered style. 1 Note
