Ruby red, cherry and violet in the nose as well as a bit of oak. If you like an oak flavor to your red, then this is it. It's dry, but very smooth and exhibits a complexity of flavor that is outstanding. The finish is pure velvet. The region of Basilicata produces only the Aglianico grape and Aglianico del Vultura is the only DOC in the region, so you know you're getting a high quality wine that rivals the best Barolos in Northern Italy. The wine sits in slavonia oak barrels for two years, in the bottle for one. Price point: a surprising $20. 1 Note
