Concannon’s Petite Sirah packs a great full-bodied and fruit forward experience. Aromas consist of dark Cherries and spices. Flavors are rich with creamy blueberries and dark cherries. It’s jammy and the tannins are smooth. It has a long lingering finish and great after taste that has you thinking twice about putting down the glass. I know I’ve said it on other Petite Sirahs, but I really suggest you California Cabernet fans try it out, and normally you get good structure, body, complexity, and value from this varietal. Highly recommended; $13.

The 2008 Pinot Noir produced with grapes from Russian River Valley exhibited a beautiful garnet color. After about 30 minutes, I was impressed with its chorus of sweet, dried cherries, blueberries some hints of toasted oak, and a nicely formed and light-bodied structure. Flavors of cherry, spices (thyme maybe?), and blueberries were a welcome explosion on the palate. The finish was long and satisfying and the tannins were silky smooth. This paired very well with Mediterranean encrusted salmon. Highly recommended; $13.

Angeline‘s Merlot met the standard with its aromas of raspberry, cherries, and some earthy tones. Flavors were jammy with dark cherries, a little raspberry, some hints of oak on the finish. The flavors flowed and blended well with the sweeter notes of our Hawaiian-styled marinade for salmon. It was a good suggestion for pairing; $14.
