Climbing Cabernet Sauvignon -2004 (WE-56013)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Its aromas are quite nice—clay, black cherry, eraser, graham cracker--but the palate doesn't deliver the goods quite as prettily. Has a papery/wooly feel; fruit has a green, sourish edge. Not imported to the U.S. 1 Note

Climbing Chardonnay -2005 (WE-56014)

Like other Philip Shaw wines, this one has an ethereal quality to it that could be understood as elegant by one person and just too delicate by another. Very light vanilla and butterscotch aromas start things off, bringing soft melon and pear on board in the mouth. Soft around the edges with fine acidity; finishes with a sour citric note. Imported by Cumulus Wines Inc. 1 Note

A classy, nice-sized Cab. The nose shows deep black pepper, dried spice and mixed plums, and the palate—plums, oak, and blackberry—follows suit. Finishes with dry, woodsy tannins. 1 Note

Rosemount Shiraz -2002 (WE-34599)

Earth and dried spice accents are in abundance here, as is cherry fruit. The combination makes an already dry mouthfeel feel even drier. A good candidate for the dinner table, particularly the next time you have a rich sauce or gravy on the menu. 1 Note

Logan Australia Chardonnay -1999 (WE-17474)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Shows promise in its lightly toasty and citrusy aromas and lemon and green-apple flavors, but tails off rapidly on the finish. It’s lean and racy, obviously from a relatively cool-climate region, and should be served as you would basic Chablis, with oysters and the like. 1 Note

Robert Oatley Sangiovese -2008 (WE-89948)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Shows recognizable varietal character in its aromas and flavors of sour cherry, citrus and tomato, but there’s a bit of fatness and sweetness in the mouth. Shows potential. 1 Note

Rosemount Shiraz -1999 (WE-11662)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Though well-oaked, the wood used is beautifully integrated in this full, round, suave red. Plum, chocolate and licorice elements accented by smoke and mint provide plenty of flavor. A touch soft on the palate, the sweet and sour finish firms up with dusty, even tannins. 1 Note
