Meant to be served chilled and young, this peppy red has vibrant berry-basket aromas and flavors. It's a fresh, happy wine, very juicy with pure fruit. Goes well with crabcakes, and probably just as well with fiery curries. 1 Note

Cocoa and mocha accent red fruit and a little eucalyptus on the nose. Black fruit on the palate falls into a vortex of the usual accoutrements–toffee, mocha and caramel. Chewy but soft tannins complete the picture; though the flavors are dark, the wine isn’t at all unapproachable. It’s a teddy bear. 1 Note

Fresh-sliced melon, mustard seed and honey on the nose. Ripe peach, melon, honey and hay flavors are dry rather than cloyingly sweet. Finishes clean, with a dry, slatelike feel. 1 Note

“The little blonde,” as its name translates, is made of Colombard. It’s thick and round in the mouth, with peach, apricot and grapefruit flavors that persist through the finish. A good choice if crispness isn’t high on your list of priorities. 1 Note

A current release, despite the vintage; these parcels were selected from some set aside for the Classic Clare bottling. Smells just great, with deep, penetrating menthol and dark plum fruit. Sorghum and licorice palate flavors are subtle on the palate and fatten up for a grand finale on the finish. 1 Note

A new release, despite the vintage, but not available in the U.S. Another Leasingham with a deep, penetrating nose-here, it’s eucalyptus and black pepper. There’s big berry and plum fruit on the front palate, and tobacco and oak on the back. Soft and lush, drinkable now. Quite good. 1 Note
