Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

This particular wine possessed great dark fruit in the nose with some black peppercorn. The complexity of the flavor was exhibited by currant, strawberries, cherries, cinnamon and oak. It had a nice, full-bodied feel with good acidity, firm tannins, and a lingering after-taste that persisted for well over a minute. Give this wine a good hour, or aerate in one of those $40 aerators and then give it another 20-30 minutes. This pairs well with steak and other hardy meats. 90 points by Wine Spectator. Highly recommended for quality and price; $14

Delille Cellars Doyenne Syrah -2007

This is a truly powerful wine from one of WA's top producers. Almost black in color. Loaded with dark berry fruit with notes of tar and tobacco. You'll probably need some red meat to help wash this syrah down.

Royal City Stoneridge Vineyard Syrah -2006

Absolutely best Syrah from Washington State that I have ever tasted, hands down. Superbly heavy bottle foreshadows the quality of the wine enclosed. Inky black, subtle white pepper notes on the nose, complex layers of black fruit and wet-woods aromatics characterize the mid-palate. Wow. Just a wow.

Chateau Ste. Michelle Eroica Riesling -2009

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

This wine is made by the world-famous German winemaker Ernst Loosen at the Chateau Ste. Michelle winery using Columbia Valley grapes.

This is a fairly dry Riesling with a healthy bit of acidity -- Dr. Loosen leaves in just a hint of CO2, which gives just a little bit of bite on the tip of the tongue. Strong flavors of green apple on a backdrop of citrus with mineral notes. The finish is long with a hint of peach.

This is a sinfully delicious blend with aromatics of dark raspberry and crimson cherries with hints of earth, heady spices and a subtle oak finish. It's very accessibl!

Delille Cellars Doyenne Syrah -2008

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

This is the definition of a big wine. You'll want to decant it for a good 30 minutes at a minimum. Heavy and full mouthfeel. There is 61% syrah contributing lots of dark berry fruit. Most of the remaining grapes are Cabernet which adds peppery and cassis notes. This wine would pair amazingly with venison.
