Cleanliness, zest, dryness and potent citrus flavors characterize this wine. What’s not to like? It’s bright and crisp in lemongrass, grapefuit and lime flavors, undergirded with minerals and enriched with sweet vanilla and butter from partial barrel fermentation. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, it’s a very beautiful example of the variety. 1 Note

The bouquet is earthy, maybe bordering on funky. There just isn’t much fruit to it. Beyond that, look for jammy berry flavors and plenty of oak, the latter of which is very strong on the tail end. The wine has spunk but it fails to distinguish itself among the wide world of California Zin contenders. 1 Note
