Pommery Champagne Blend -1989 (WE-39437)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

A very toasty wine, with maturity but without the balancing elegance. Somehow the fruit seems to have been sidelined by the toastiness and the wine doesn't quite hold together. Pommery is supposed to be back on form now, so more recent vintage releases of Louise should be less disappointing than this. 1 Note

J. de Telmont Champagne Blend -2000 (WE-39443)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

This is one of the youngest vintages on the market currently, and it tastes like it. It is fresh and fruity, but isn't balanced yet between the sweetness of the dosage and the fruit and acidity of the Champagne. This could change, but it would certainly need four or five years' aging. 1 Note

Jacquesson et Fils Champagne Blend -1989 (WE-39452)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

From the exceptionally ripe 1989 vintage, Jacquesson decided to bottle a Champagne without any dosage of sugar. The wine was also kept on its lees in bottle and not disgorged until July 2004. The result is a wine with exceptional elegance and surprising freshness. It is approaching maturity but that is all. Flavors of green fruits and yeast are finely in balance with the acidity. 1 Note

Masottina Prosecco -NV (WE-44637)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Slightly sweet to the nose, with hints of crushed vitamins and fresh-baked doughnuts. Sugary white fruits control the sizable palate, while the overall character is one of simple sweetness. Veers a little toward soda pop in the final analysis. 1 Note

A 100% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, this deliciously creamy Champagne has lightness, freshness and great flavors of crisp apples and grapefruit. A bonus with De Sousa Champagnes is the disgorgement date indication—the older, the better. Imported by Lafayette Wines. 1 Note
