Earthy, smoky nose. Thick mouth feel. This was my first time drinking camenére, and it's definitely a fun grape.

Ripe and rubbery, with a little bit of jump. Blackberry and sweet plum flavors are not herbal, while background oak offers vanilla, pepper and a light creaminess. Finishes clean. Imported by Banfi Vintners. 1 Note

Dark and meaty on the nose, with plum, blackberry and spice notes. The palate is fleshy but a little hollow in the middle, with dark fruit that’s tasty but not real deep or complicated. Finishes short, with saltiness. Superficial in many ways, but dark, fun and gets the job done. 1 Note

Roasted, floral, candied aromas precede a zesty, medium-weight palate of red plum, cherry and herbal flavors. The palate is juicy and acidic, with racy red fruit and scour and scrape to the finish. Straightforward Carmenère without much softness or richness. 1 Note

Ultragreen and slightly vegetal, which basic, Central Valley Carmenère is prone to be. The nose has blackberry fruit, carob and bell pepper, while flavors of murky, sweet berry and green bean set up a rooty finish. 1 Note
