For Primeur, read Nouveau in this wine that starts with a barnyard character, but that then turns into richness, a sign of the vintage. There is easy ripe cherry with a light touch of tannin. Bananas and acidity are there to finish. 1 Note

A wine that brings out all the richness of 2009. It has great plum and red cherry flavors, touched with spice, then finished with sweet acidity. The concentration is there, along with final acidity. 1 Note

Made by Beaujolais producer Gilles Gelin, this sweet rosé is full of ripe, crushed strawberries, a touch of caramel and a rosehip aftertaste. More acidity would be welcome, but it works well as an apéritif. 1 Note

This is a fine example of how well some Beaujolais can age. The fruit is fading but it has been replaced by a wine with fine maturity, rich, concentrated, showing sweet tannins over still-fresh acidity. There is just a hint of wood aging to underline the richness of the wine. 1 Note
