My wife and I both really liked this wine. It had some great flavors that lingered for awhile. We had it with some fairly heavily spiced roasted chicken, and it didn't get overpowered at all.

I'd be surprised if we didn't get some more of this one.

Mazuelo is almost always a blending grape for a reason: it’s limited in depth and weighty. So it’s no surprise that this opens with leather, prune and bullish jam and liqueur aromas. The palate, however, is kind of sharp and lacking depth, while the flavor profile is juicy, herbal and folds in cassis and berry. Snappy and acidic for an expensive varietal wine. 1 Note

Dark purple in color. Subtle floral, powdery nose. Dark fruit flavors with underlying flavors of burnt earth and tar (in a good way!). 5 Notes

A blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano y Mazuelo. A dark cherry colour with good depth. Balsamic aromas with hints of ripe fruit, complex and spicy. The attack is fresh and light, with soft, rounded tannins. The finish proves persistent with some reminders of toasted oak. Its passage through the mouth is pleasant and elegant, fresh and easy to drink. 1 Note
