Here’s a dark, concentrated and very ripe Pinot Nero from northern Italy that is redolent of blackberry preserves, wild berries, exotic spice and lavender flower. The wine offers dense concentration and a meaty, thick texture that is carried forth by more ripe fruit flavors. 1 Note

Fresh, light aromas of raspberry and milk chocolate give the wine legitimacy, but for the most part it’s simply a lean, sassy Pinot with racy red-fruit flavors, warmth and a touch of sweet oak. Rudimentary but varietally correct with few flaws or virtues. Good but wholly basic. 1 Note

Does a decent job of fulfilling Pinot’s basic obligation of silky fruitiness, despite some minty green flavors and sharpness in the finish. Drink now. 1 Note

This young Pinot Noir is built upon 100% whole cluster carbonic maceration. It’s thin and herbal, and the tannins have a green edge. It’s difficult to find much fruit here; the wine lacks charm. 1 Note

This funky Argentinean Pinot pours on the rubber, turned earth and heavy fruit aromas, and then backs them up with a full, meaty, starchy palate that’s loaded with dry cherry and red-pepper flavors. A robust, grabby wine with virtues and question marks. 1 Note

Earthy and a bit sour, with hints of sweaty socks alongside cola and tart cherry flavors. Shows decent complexity, but finishes short and with slightly drying tannins. 1 Note

Fragrant with scents of plum, dried cherry, leaf and a hint of earth. This is a mix of lots from the three single-vineyard selections, and is markedly improved in this new vintage. Flavors of pie cherries dominate a balanced and pleasant finish. —P.G. 1 Note

The nose is forward and round, with some cheesy Burgundian scents. There is a raisiny edge to this wine, which is very ripe and drinking well right now. The finish is slight hot, and has plenty of tannin. Definitely a wine to drink young. —P.G. 1 Note

A cold climate wine brimming with sharp cherry-rasberry aromas and flavors. Oak is not evident here--just that big, brilliant blast of fruit, in a very dry wine of considerable acidity. It's also light as a feather, with airy tannins. The round, supple texture makes it a restaurant favorite. 1 Note

Blanc de Noirs is always rich, and this wine is no exception. It has plenty of red fruits, layers of tannins, fine but full acidity and a great fruity aftertaste. Could age over the next two years. Multiple U.S. importers. 1 Note
