Off-dry and very crisp in acidity, this pretty Riesling has waves of Asian spice, pineapple, pear, apple, honey and gardenia flavors. Very few wineries other than Fetzer could produce a wine this balanced at this price. 1 Note

Great value in a German-style Riesling of real style and appeal. It’s off-dry but clean and brisk in acidity, with rich flavors of tangerines and apricots and a diesel, or lighter fluid, quality. Sommeliers, this is a super by-the-glass restaurant wine. 1 Note

You may or may not fancy the blue bottle, but the juice inside is a good example of Yakima Valley Riesling. Tea, honey and lemon flavors are co-mingled; and the 5% residual sugar adds sweetness without becoming grainy or cloying. 1 Note

Maybe I'm cheerlaeding for my home state, and maybe I'm preachy about Riesling, but if I could get this delightful wine into enthusiasts' mouths, it might change their minds about both Riesling and New York State wines. This is a rounder, fatter rendition of riesling, with petrol-diesel aromatics over the apple-grape fruit. It has Chardonnay-like weight, but a decidedly different flavor range, with honey-apricot shadings and a long, appley close. 1 Note

The funky labeling on this totally delicious American Riesling talks about missing links and magical connections to the Mosel. What’s in the bottle is an alive, vivacious, slatey wine that just barely conjures memories of German Riesling. Fantastic fruit and wonderful served cool, this is a superb wine from front to back. The Blue Fish Rieslings are decent efforts from the Niederkirchen cooperative. The 2009 Sweet Riesling features ripe pear and melon balanced by crisp pineapple notes. It’s rather soft and sweet, but since that’s what it’s supposed to be, it’s hard to quibble, especially at the price. 1 Note

Light in body despite 12.5% alcohol, this lithe, sinewy Riesling is almost dry in style, with zippy pineapple and citrus fruit tracing a lean path down the palate. Drink now. 1 Note

This attractive Washington Riesling is finished at just under 2% residual sugar, giving a fruity, off-dry style with good acidity. The alcohol is a moderate 12.5% also; this is a nice go-to bottle for Pacific Rim foods. 1 Note
