Novelty Hill’s second release of the Stillwater Creek Roussanne tastes of peach skin and citrus, perhaps less ripe and round than the 2006, but stylish and sporting plenty of acid considering that this is a rather low acid grape. A layer of mineral underscores the finish. 1 Note

Here’s a big, fruity puppy of a wine, filled with life and zest and wagging a friendly tail. You’ll love the rich lime and peach flavors, with their hint of spearmint and vanilla and long, dry finish. 1 Note

Warm, sharp (15.3% alcohol) and spicy, this Roussanne has a lot of bite in the mouthfeel. Sharp, edgy citrus rind flavors lead quickly into a finish that also has a bitter edge, a bit like quinine or gin. But served chilled on a warm day, it makes a fine apéritif. 1 Note

A little too jammy, with pineapple, apricot and vanilla spice flavors. The sweetness is balanced with lemony acidity, but it’s not really a dry table wine. 1 Note

While everyone else is picking superripe, Eberle prefers a high- acid, lower-fruit wine. This doesn’t have particular Roussanne character as it’s too dry and citrusy. But it’s a clean wine with a brisk mouthfeel. 1 Note

The winery began bottling a Roussanne only in 2001. Marching to its own distinct beat, this interesting wine is soft and full-bodied, with a creamy texture framing flavors of apricots, peaches and kiwi. It’s dry and balanced. 1 Note
